2023 Men's Retreat

The men of LifeShare had a blast out at Camp Sequoia in Hunt, Texas a couple of weeks ago.

It was a time for the younger and older men to come together, with child like faith, to be refreshed by the Holy Spirit. Josh Engler of Livingway Family Church in La Vernia, Texas brought two powerful messages about God having a unique calling and purpose for every man to share the good news of Jesus. For us to be transformed like Saul became Paul in the Bible and was awakened with new spiritual eyes to become God’s instrument of grace. The flow of the Holy Spirit was so strong in our closing meeting as we lined up the young men to impart the heart of God into them. Prophetic words, songs, prayers, and visions were flowing so easily like the Guadalupe River in front of us. At one point a physical wind blew through our meeting giving natural evidence of what our mighty God was doing in the Spirit.

Along with the spiritual, we had some good ole outdoors fun playing football, basketball, and an epic game of dodge ball. It was a nail biter with Caleb Pendleton scoring the home run winner!

Of course, sleep was hard to come by in the snoring dorm as the symphony of snorers glorified God in the highest. But thankfully we had a dorm for the non-snorers and that may have been the best idea of the weekend. As for the guys who stayed up too late talking by the fire 🔥 pit and the guys who played pool and foosball into the wee hours of the night, they took a good nap on Saturday afternoon.

And finally, the food was world class as Anna Thevaos and Jaime Flores made us a Mexican cuisine for dinner and a full course breakfast. It was way beyond camp food!

We look forward to next year when more of the guys can join in on the fun. See you next year guys for Courageous Men’s Retreat!
