Advent- December 7
Listen:
Jesus showed us who God is; “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! “ John 14:9
Jesus showed us who God was by demonstrating His love. Jesus healed the sick, loved broken people, set oppressed people free. Anything Jesus did showed us what God is like.
Jesus not only showed us what God is like, but He became the very thing that kept us from God, and He traded places with us, giving us His righteousness in exchange for our sin. Now, we can see how good God is. We will no longer see God like Adam did and hide. We can go to him even when we have made a mistake, and He will love, forgive, and teach us.
Jesus took it a step further and gave us His Spirit. He made us part of His family by putting His heart in us! Now, we can hear His voice speaking to us.
Take time today and listen for God’s voice. If you close your eyes and ask God, “God, do you love me?” listen for His voice, which will always be “Yes!” Then, ask him, “God, what do you love about me?” Listen for what He tells you.
