In 1 Samuel, young Samuel was literally sleeping in the temple, right next to the presence of God, but he still didn’t recognize God’s voice yet. It took a mentor (Eli) and a shift in posture to unlock his true destiny. His breakthrough happened the moment he stopped running around and simply said: “Speak, for your servant is listening.” (1 Samuel 3:10)
